LOVE my tenors. The bright tone, the simplicity of them, I tell folks they’re my zen guitars. I have five and six strings, and I enjoy them as well, but there’s something about the tenors that draws me in time and again. It’s all about personal preference. Obviously the gent above can’t relate, just as I can’t fathom where he’s coming from.

Well after playing on 4 Strings for a long Time I updated to a 6 String. Electric Guitars are easy to play so no issues. Keep in mind the Tenor Guitar is tuned like a Tenor Banjo & it's sometimes harder depending on if you play Guitar or not.

No offense, and I understand this is basically a very well written advert, but no guitarist needs a tenor guitar. Unless that guitarist has limited usage of their fretting hand, for example. Remember "cigar box guitars"?
It's the same crap, a new flavor of the month, and they will soon be shoved in the closet with the old mountain dulcimer everyone thought they "needed". If you're bored with your tubings, and playing, start listening to old Joni Mitchell records. That'll keep ya busy...,

I just bought an Ibanez AVT1NT and I like to play alternative and pop. Coldplay, chain smokers, Top 40. Light Ellie Goulding get me? I’m wondering what tuning I should use for my 4 string tenor guitar for a more deep serious pop/techno like sound. You know like on today’s radio. Ariana grande, lady Gaga. I know it can be tuned in so many ways but what is the best and most simple for this style? I just came from a Kala tenor ukulele. It was easy but tenor guitar I ha e no idea since I’ve been reading all the tubings. Please help? Do I need to change the strings out to tune different ways? If it wasn’t in tune when I bought it how do I know what it’s supposed to be? I love it and want to start!!! Thank you so much!
