Just got a blue burst dean signature strat has the kahler bridge with white neck and fret board just bought a new nut for it since that’s the only thing it needed besides a good cleaning and some fret work

I was just given one of these for free, from my landlady, a 75 yr old woman whom I consider family. An older tenant left it years ago and she saved it. It’sa Dean Z Signature with a Kahler (Floyd Rose) type tremelo. The tremelo is missing a couple little pieces, but otherwise the guitar is in mint shape. No warps or bends in the neck and only a few minor dents/chips in the body paint.
I’m definitely going to restore this guitar as the tremelo is the only real work needed on it and I have exactly 0 dollars invested in this project currently. I collect guitars and for some reason I have a love for this particular one… mostly due to the fact of who gave this to me (so sentimental reasons rather than monetary or historical significance). So, it not being like my late 60’s Fender Stratocaster, or my LesPaul of the same vinatge, I will just go and buy a brand new Kahler tremelo, rather than buying a used one, or replacing the parts that are missing on the current tremelo. I don’t believe I’ll have the dings and scratches fixed on the body as I think it will take away from the character… And I’ve always been very big on character when it comes to any of the guitars I own or have owned.

i have a fluorescent pink neck thru body model. it weighs a ton but plays surprisingly well. i wish i could find out more definitive info on the guitar as i have not come across any other neck thru versions on the net.

I have one and never could get the the mall to work so I took the two back screws out of the tremelo , the ones that mount it to the guitar and put two washers on them.to hold the the mall from moving and have played it since 1987 with no problems … super fast neck and after switching pickups …a great guitar .. do this of the Accutane won’t stay in tune … I was never able to get it to stayh in tune until I did this and if you still lock it that neck it’s bulletproof.. can play it all night and it won’t go out and you still tune with the fine tuners ! 🙂

Have one I got cheap and put a Kahler trem on it and a Dean DMT Baker Act pickup in the bridge because the factory pickup was too microphonic going through my 5150 (was nothing but feedback). Plays and sounds great now

I just got one for $50. I don’t know where the serial number is, and the action lower on the fretboard is pretty bad. I haven’t had a lot of time to look at it too closely, nor have I ever played with a tremolo… But for $50, I figured I’d roll the dice.

I have this same guitar but my head stock says Dean Z signature. All black with black fret. I don’t thinks it’s ebony. Maybe richlite. It sounds great. It is her heavy. Is it made of maple Mahogany combo?

I have this exact guitar. I need a tremolo for it, or a suitable replacement as I just can’t give up on it. I have the original tremolo but part of it broke, right where the front mounting screw holes are. If nothing else, I’m gonna hang it on the wall if I can’t fix/repair it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Eeew, it’s an “Accutune” tremolo! My first nice guitar back in the 80’s was a “JB Player” guitar that looked almost exactly like this one (black pick-guard instead of mirror). I know mine was Korean, since I peeled the “Made in Korea” sticker off it as soon as I got it home… kids (rolls eyes)
Will guitars like this ever become as well-thought about as Danelectros/Silvertones are now? I’m sure there are as many Korean guitars from the 80’s as there were Teiscos and Sears Catalog guitars a generation before them.
