And a nice idea to replicate this. I had a mid ’70’s Ovation Magnum and I’ve always regretted getting rid of it. It was a great playing and sounding bass. This looks great…where’s the string dampener? That was one of the functions on this bass that made it different and it worked great….of course I ended up just leaving it on all the time.

Hey Mike, I gots a question for yous!
Why is it I’ve never seen a guitar or bass from Eastwood with a maple fretboard? Maple adds a snap and brightness you don’t get from rosewood, as I’m sure you know. Just a thought that’s been on my mind.

That looks great!
I give a nod towards your choice of a maple neck.
That should really give the ability to get snappier and Fender bright if one likes, while still keeping the ability to get those deep Alembic like tones of the original.
Nothing wrong with the “I’ll be back after lunch” sustain from the long scale either.
