When you enter the world of Gigging guitarist, you must get used to two word. you will hear them from your band mates, Club owners, audiences, producers, wives, police, cameramen (the worst), and the occasional "inner voice:). I use VOX amps. I have them in all sizes From 15 watt 110..to 120 watt 212's. According to the size of the venue, I pick the size amp, turn it on 10 and let the tubes do the job of making the loudness pleasant. Many times someone will say "turn down' because the eq of the sound is unpleasant to their ears. Saturation insead of distortion, ease up on the high mids...alot. keep the path between your guitar and amp short and sweet (ease up on the effects. Not many people will tell you you are too loud if the music sounds good. Finally, tune your guitars, and keep your instrument maintained to stay in tune. Its all the drummers fault anyway.
