Maybe Hank Williams Jr signed the pickguard, but Hank Sr. died in 1953, long before Morris came into existance. Sorry it was stolen. That Sux!

By the way the only proof I have is a couple of pictures of me with it on the night it was stolen. And I think I have a couple of pics I took of it in my room when I lived at home. Anyway I still can’t believe after all these years I finally located it. Yet will never get it back.

This guitar was given to me as a gift. It originally had a pick guard that the owner kept which was signed by Hank Willims Sr. I kept this guitar at home always and enjoyed playing it. I took it to a gig once at the Philly Cookbook many years ago and it was stolen from me. I can’t believe I sorta found it. But that guitar that was found on Torrsdale ave. was MY GUITAR! After all these years never seeing one like it anywhere until now. Sad that noone will probably ever return it to me.

I have what I believe to be a 1970’s Morris Mando Mania and am trying to source some background information.
It has a Florentine scroll with twin pickups and the headstock reads “The Morris” and a name plate inside the f-hole reads “Morris Gakki Co. MORRIS Custom”.
The only reference to it is that Pete Cosey played one in the 70’s with Miles Davis and there are a few pictures on Google but that’s it!
Any help would be much appreciated. I can supply photos for authenticity if it helps.

That was MY guitar–I used to work at NHF music in downtown philly and i purchased it there NHF was a wholesaler/distributor of Morris. Anyway i can purchase it back?

I have a morrs stage series electric guitar and the story that I heard is that it’s one of six that was made in the Ibanez factory. Do you have any knowlege of this guitar ?

Well, it’s a Yoshino, which means it’s made at the Ibanez factory (if I’m not mistaken).

I collect Morris’ guitars, don’t think I’ll find another one of those though.
