I have a 1965 Corvette 6135. It has turned out to be a great little rocker. Nice lightweight, and those pickups WOW , they cut through the air and people take notice of them.

I had one of these gems in the early 1970s. It had a built in booster powered by a 9 volt battery installed by removing plastic panel in back. What sound when the booster was activated - like nitrous in a drag racer. Super crisp. Like the solo in Sympathy For The Devil. Guitar was beautifully finished. It was really cool. Sold it as I needed to purchase a set of tires. C'est la mort.

My first real guitar was a 67 Gretsch Corvette. With the SG style cherry finish. It was a beauty. Took a lot of trash over the two over four headstock....but she held her own for sound. Thanks for posting!

solid body Gretsch guitars were nobody's choice, but their semi-hollow guitars were and still are in a league all their own, they are not comparable to Gibson, Epiphone, Guild, or anything else, they have their own unique sound. Given a choice between a Gretsch and a Gibson, I'll take the Gretsch. Also I have never seen a picture of The Beach Boys with a Gretsch, can you please post it?
