i most certainly DO care- im still waiting on a REAL guitar player to endorse the telecaster of REAL note, such as Steve Cropper or Robert Ward, whom made noises one can only dream of coming close to today on that very plank of wood, metal, and plastic. not taking anything away from any endorsees of that model of geetar, however i would love to see those two artists endorsed on that model geetar, then maybe id buy name brand again. until then, the imposters suit me fine!

the sound you can get from a guitar depends on so many parameters that it would be ridiculous to imagine than having one's guitar will help out having his sound! BTW, who wants to sound like someone else?
on the other hand, I don't want to deprive young musicians of their endorsements, at least it makes some guitar brands visible!

Q: Does the fact that an artist endorses a particular piece of gear influence your buying decisions?
A: If they're an artist I like, it at least gets me to check their gear out. I buy what sounds right to my ears, though.

Q:If the artist gets their gear for free in exchange for endorsing it, does that mean the endorsement has less impact on you?
A: No. That's good business. The artist is providing the manufacturer with a service, and they are being compensated in a logical fashion. If they didn't get the free gear, they'd get money - which they'd spend on the gear. Really, it's just efficient to give them the gear straight up. Besides, it's also a way for manufacturers to get new gear to artists to test it.

Q: Does an endorsement have more influence if the endorser is a ‘big’ name?
A: None whatsoever. All that matters is if I like their sound.

Q: Do you care at all about endorsements?
A: I don't really care much, although one day I'd like to be good/famous enough to acquire a few endorsements. ^_~
